4 Things To Do In Kelowna When It’s Smoky Outside

I think we can all agree that the smoky air caused by BC forest fires is making it a little difficult to spend time outside. But, don’t worry! There’s still so much to do in Kelowna even when the weather outside is a little dreadful. Here are 4 places to go when you’d rather be anywhere than outside.

Try A Dish At A New-To-You Restaurant

Don’t worry, I get it. I love to go to my favorite restaurants over and over and over again, even though I know I should try somewhere new. To escape the smokiness outdoors, do some indoor exploring in the beautiful Okanagan and have some good eats at a cool restaurant. The Salted Brick has the best eggs benny I’ve ever had, Latin Fiesta in Rutland makes a mean quesadilla, and Sturgeon Hall is serious about their burgers and fries. BRB! My stomach is growling.

Book A Cooking Class

Whether you actually need to brush up on your cooking skills or you just want to find a new way to spend date night in Kelowna  with friends or your partner, cooking classes with the Start Fresh Project is a fun indoor activity that’ll leave you feeling accomplished and full! Start Fresh offers unique classes with a different theme each class night like pasta making, sticky bun creating, knife skills, and more. Don’t feel like cooking but still want to eat a sustainable meal? Schedule yourself in for one of their yummy Sunday dinners.

Try Floating

Some of the best ideas I’ve had have come directly from the float tank. There are so many benefits that come from floating, and I’m not just talking about escaping to find a breath of fresh air. Whether you need a boost in creativity, you’re looking to ease anxiety/depression symptoms, or just want to find peace and solitude, book yourself an appointment. At Float Space you’ll find out for yourself the benefit that floating provides.

Find The Perfect Cup Of Coffee

Blenz in Glenmore is my personal favorite, but you should go off and find your own. 😛 Hit up the Bean Scene at their new downtown location. Try Pulp Fiction Coffee House. Wherever you feel a warm cup of joe is calling your name, head there, sit down alone, and sip on that coffee to your heart’s content. In fact, that’s what I’m doing right now as I write this and it’s pure bliss.

What are your favorite indoor activities when it’s smoky outside in Kelowna? Let us know because I’m definitely feeling a little bored these days and I’m always looking for new and exciting ideas!
